We do participate in studies initiated and sponsored by pharmaceutical companies, but we always make sure that the medicines being studied in these clinical trials are safe and effective. In addition, all of our studies are first reviewed and approved by the Columbia University Human Subjects Committee, called the Institutional Review Board. The sponsoring company is always listed on our consent forms and we would be happy to share with you all the information from the company that we have. In general, pharmaceutical companies usually sponsor many of the newer and more exciting drug treatment trials.
