Making Art at the MoMA

On a recent Saturday, a group of teens from the Naomi Berrie Diabetes Center had the opportunity to tour the Museum of Modern Art and then create art of their own at a three-hour workshop sponsored by the MoMA Community and Access Programs and the Naomi Berrie Diabetes Center. The reviews were spectacular!

"I absolutely LOVED the MoMA trip," Arianna J. Pineiro, said afterwards. "We got to see the museum for free, which I loved, and we got to see paintings I've heard about but have never seen before. I loved being able to paint whatever I wanted. It felt inspiring and empowering. I even made a new friend."

The workshop was free and a tour of the Museum's permanent collection was  guided by a MoMA teaching artist. The teens were then invited to make their own art. The workshop was so successful that another one is planned for June. Keep checking the Berrie Center's Facebook page for the announcement of the date!
